Dear Constituents,
As your representative in the National Assembly, I, Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM), write to offer reassurance and encouragement during these challenging times. I understand the current economic difficulties, with rising prices making it hard for many to provide for their families. Please know that your concerns are my top priority.
I am working diligently with the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and other parliamentarians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in his efforts to bring relief and support to our community and Country. Recently, through the Federal Government, I facilitated the construction of Blocks of classrooms in each of our LGA and another one is ongoing in Igbeti. The construction of an examination hall in Kishi, and a court hall in Igboho are also ongoing.
Additionally, the construction of a Road Safety Office is forthcoming in Igboho, along with the provision of educational materials for pupils and students in the constituency. Rest assured, Mr. President and the National Assembly are committed to alleviating our hardships through various interventions, projects, and palliative measures.
Soon, we will begin the distribution of fertilizers to our farmers to boost agricultural productivity and ensure food security. Another round of food palliatives and many other intervention programs are also in the pipeline from the Federal Government. We have just passed the bill to increase the minimum wage, providing significant financial relief to our workers.
This period marks a significant milestone for our federal constituency as we witness the benefits of federal government initiatives. Numerous projects have been successfully implemented, with several more in progress. Recently, we also launched the installation of streetlights across the three local governments, with ongoing infrastructure projects. We are expectant on the road rehabilitation in our constituency soon.
I strongly encourage and pleading to our youths and all constituents to refrain from participating in the planned nationwide protest on the 1st of August, 2024. I assure you that President Tinubu is fully committed to revitalizing Nigeria’s economy, but this requires careful and strategic planning. As the Yoruba adage goes: “Adire nla aagun, irun re nii o je kama” (A big chicken is sweating, but its feathers cover it).
May the Almighty bring us solace and economic prosperity. Let us remain united and patient as we look forward to better days ahead.
Sincerely,
Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM)
Member, House of Representatives, National Assembly
Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, Oyo State.
