MEET HON. POLAM

His expertise in the field of Physics propelled him towards making a positive impact on people’s lives. With a strong background in both Physics and Computer Science, he gained recognition among his peers and caught the attention of prospective employers. In 1994, he was employed as an Assistant Route Commander in the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) during the height of the computer revolution in the organization. He was stationed as a Computer Programmer and was among the first group of employees who relocated from Lagos to Abuja that year.

Prince Olaide Mohammed played a vital role in the pioneering efforts of the Commission in developing databases for resource management, payroll systems, and road traffic accident information. The Federal Government of Nigeria lauded this initiative, which brought him recognition and accolades. Throughout his tenure, he served the Commission in various capacities, leaving a lasting impression and setting benchmarks for his successors.

He was honored with the Best Behaved Officer Award at the Commander’s Basic Course in 2005. Furthermore, during his Leadership & Citizenship Training Course (Course SH645) at Shere Hills in 1998, he received commendations. These accolades are a testament to his unwavering commitment to delivering effective service and showcasing professionalism in his duties.

Even before his employment with the FRSC, Prince Olaide had already ventured into the business world. Recognizing the potential challenges of managing private businesses alongside the regimented nature of his role, he became a mentor to budding entrepreneurs. Many of these individuals have now become successful business moguls in various fields, thanks to his support and guidance. His humanitarian services and dedication to welfare programs set him apart from his contemporaries.

His passion for welfare programs led him to play a significant role in the formation of several Cooperative Societies in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its environs. With his astute business acumen and versatility, he facilitated the establishment of Cooperative Societies in the civil service, including within the FRSC. His contributions were instrumental during the formation of the FRSC Staff and Housing Cooperative Societies, and he played a crucial role in establishing the Safeline Microfinance Bank.

Prince Olaide Mohammed has held various leadership positions within cooperative societies, including Chairman of Vision Multipurpose Cooperative Society and Secretary General of the Abuja Cooperative Federation and FRSC Staff Cooperative Society. He also served as the Financial Secretary of the FRSC Housing Cooperative and Chairman of Kisi Microfinance Bank in Oyo State. Presently, he holds the position of Chairman at Camics Conglomerate, overseeing the development of Camics Estate in Gwagwalada, Camics Garden City on Sobi Road in Ilorin, and Camics Estate in the Idi Igba Area of Oke Oyi, Ilorin. His achievements and records in these capacities speak to his excellence and charismatic personality, always ready to undertake tasks and responsibilities that prioritize the welfare of others.

Due to his exceptional qualities of tolerance, peacemaking, and encouragement to others, Prince Olaide Mohammed earned the nickname “Prince of Peace” from his friends. In recognition of his efforts, he was awarded the title of Ambassador For Peace to the United Nations by the Universal Peace Federation in 2009.

Alhaji Abdul Lateef Olaide is happily married with children and has mentored a large number of young individuals who look up to him as a role model.

LEGACIES OF HONORABLE PRINCE OLAIDE LATEEF MOHAMMED (POLAM)

1. Served Kisi Students Association as the Assistant Secretary General, Secretary General, and The President and brought a lot of Innovations and assisted many students to secure admissions into various Higher Institutions – 1986, 1988, and 1990 respectively

2. Created and Generated the Staff Personal Identification Number (PIN) for FRSC staff which is being used till date – 1995

3. Assisted many Youths in securing permanent Job in the Federal Civil Service – 1995-2009

4. Doyen of FRSC Staff Cooperative Society, National Headquarters, Abuja, and held the Secretariat for 7 Years – 2003

5. Negotiated and supervised the completion of 10 housing units purchased for FRSC Housing Cooperative Society (Hananiya Estate Kubwa Abuja) – 2004

6. Sourced for Land and engineered the construction of 204 housing units (Wole Soyinka Estate) for FRSC Staff Cooperative Society – 2005

7. Initiated and secured 20 Hectares of Land for the construction of 350 housing units for FRSC at Lokogoma Area, Abuja FCT – 2008

8. Handled the establishment of Safeline Microfinance Bank for FRSC Staff Cooperative Society – 2009

9. Conceived and developed Camics Estate consisting of 46 housing units along Kuje Road, Gwagwalada Abuja FCT – 2010

10. Provided Cash Assistance to Victims of Storm in Irepo Local Government, Oyo State – 2013

11. Rescued Kisi Microfinance Bank from total collapse and became the Board Chairman – 2009-2014

12. Donated 500KVA Transformer to Federal Site & Services, Obanisunwa Airport Area, Ilorin Kwara State – 2015

13. Organized and Financed Various Youth and Women Empowerment Programmes (Cash, Tricycle, Motorcycles, etc.) – 2009-2017

14. As the President of Federal Site & Services Ilorin, He Opened about 11 km access Roads within the Scheme, Constructed befitting Gate House for the Estate and Constructed concrete drainages and Culverts on Major Roads – 2020

15. Established Camics Hotels at Camics Garden City, Sobi Road, Ilorin – 2020

16. Established Camics Guest House at Camics Estate, Kuje Road, Gwagwalada Abuja – 2020

17. Developing 160 Housing Units at Oke Oyi Ilorin Kwara state for state Civil Servants – 2021

18. Conceived and developed Camics Garden City along Sobi Road, Ilorin Kwara State comprising 200 Housing Units – 2013 to date
