KPU National Body Pays Courtesy Visit to Hon. Polam at the National Assembly

KPU National Executives

Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (Polam) received the Kishi Progressive Union (KPU) National Executives, led by the National President, Pharm. (Chief) Rahman Jimoh Bioku, in his office at the National Assembly on Wednesday.

During the courtesy visit, the KPU National Executives presented seventeen agenda items aimed at fostering community development and enhancing the social and economic well-being of the people. Hon. Polam was urged to prioritize infrastructural development in the community, especially in healthcare, education, and road construction. He was also challenged to support programs that will create job opportunities for the youth in the constituency, enhance security, and promote peace and stability.

Among the notable agenda items presented are:

  1. Construction of good motorable roads and adequate drainage systems in the Kishi metropolis
  2. Provision of a stable electricity supply
  3. Provision of clean and potable water by supporting water supply, reactivation of waterworks, dam, and its accessories
  4. Establishment of a tertiary institution in Kishi
  5. Building and equipping a modern High Court hall
  6. Creation of job opportunities for the youth in our community, either in the civil/public sector, military/paramilitary
  7. Support for farmers to ease their farming methods and provide a good market for their products
  8. Empowerment and loans for MSMEs and artisans in Irepo Local Government…. among others.

The KPU National body pledged its commitment to working with Hon. Polam to ensure these objectives are achieved and urged him to use his influence and office to attract significant government projects to the Kishi community.

The Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed, Alhaji Tajudeen Arikeuyo Badmos, Ph.D., in his welcome address, appreciated the community leaders for their visit and assured them of Hon. Polam’s readiness to work tirelessly to achieve some of the agenda items presented to him.

While addressing the KPU National Executive team, Hon. Olaide Mohammed thanked the National KPU Executives for the courtesy visit. He pledged his loyalty to the community and his readiness to work with anyone, irrespective of their political affiliation.

He hinted that some of the items on the submitted agenda are already in the pipeline and will soon come to fruition. He also urged the leaders of the community organization to look for ways to bring all political officeholders together to promote rapid growth and development in the community.
