OFFICIAL: Hon. Polam Launches Training and Empowerment of Over 100 Youths and Women in Garri Processing in Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency
Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM) on Wednesday, 11th September 2024, officially launched a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering over 100 youths and women in the Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency with vital skills in cassava and garri processing. This bold step is part of Hon. Polam’s ongoing commitment to fostering economic empowerment and self-sufficiency within the constituency. The training, facilitated by Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM) through the Federal Government agency, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), will run from 11th to 14th September 2024. Participants will not only acquire the skills necessary for cassava and garri processing, but will also receive take-off grants at the end of the training. This financial support will enable them to commence production immediately, contributing to increased food availability and economic development within the constituency. In a further boost to local production, Hon. Polam has also announced the installation of cassava processing plants across the three local government areas of Irepo, Orelope, and Olorunsogo. This initiative is expected to streamline the production process, reduce food costs, and enhance the economic prospects of the area. Speaking at the launch, Hon. Polam, who was represented by the Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to the Deputy Senate President and party leader, Hon. Abdulazeez Bonuola, reaffirmed his commitment to bringing more capital projects and empowerment initiatives to the constituency. He emphasized that these efforts will drive economic growth, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for the people. Other leaders who graced the launch of the training included Alh. Saka Okanlawon (APC State Executive); Alh. Hon. Tiamiyu Moshood (Irepo APC Chairman); Mr. Soliu Egbebi (Orelope APC Chairman); Alh. Sikiru Ibrahim (Olorunsogo APC Chairman); Alh. Yinusa Kolawole (APC Legal Adviser); Mr. Surajudeen Abdullahi (Personal Assistant, Federal); APC Youth Leader; APC PRO; and Personal Assistants to Hon. Polam from Irepo, along with many other political functionaries. This latest initiative is yet another testament to Hon.
