PRESS RELEASE: Hon. Polam Addresses Constituency Stakeholders on Appeal Filed by Hon. Olumide Ojerinde

October 5th, 2023 Esteemed APC leaders, party members, and cherished supporters, I would like to discuss the recent concerns circulating regarding the appeal filed by Hon. Olumide Ojerinde of the Accord Party (popularly known as Omo Oloore) to contest the judgment handed down by the Election Tribunal on September 6th, 2023. He seeks to have the court set aside the tribunal’s judgment and affirm him as the winner of the February 25, 2023 National Assembly election. It is unsurprising that an individual who secured the 3rd position in the last election, with 9,202 votes, is challenging the victory of the leading candidate who received 15,481 votes. However, I urge you all not to be unduly perturbed or worried. As the Yoruba adage wisely puts it: “Eni ti oro ejo laaro, to je bi; oro ejo losan o jebi, ejo kilo fe ro lale,” which translates to “Someone who lost a case in the morning, drags it to the afternoon and still loses; what surprising outcome does he expect at night?” We are confident in our victory at the Appeal Court. Challenging my victory is not a problem at all; however, what concerns me more is the wasting of valuable judicial time and resources that could be better utilized for the benefit of our Federal Constituency. In moments like these, it is essential for all of us to exhibit grace in both victory and defeat. We must uphold the principles of sportsmanship and respect the democratic process. I call upon all dignitaries and members of our constituency to remain calm and undisturbed. Let us join hands and work towards the betterment and transformation of our Federal Constituency. Let us focus our energies on the common good and the progress of our beloved constituency, irrespective of the legal proceedings that may unfold. Your unflinching support has been the driving force behind our journey, and I have every confidence that together, we will continue to advance our constituency’s interests. Thank you for your trust, and let us move forward with determination and unity. Hon. Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (Polam) Member, House of Representatives Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency National Assembly

Rejoinder: Setting the Record Straight on Hon. Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed’s Achievements

We wish to address the recent allegations and misinformation regarding the achievements of Hon. Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (Polam), representing the Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency in Oyo State. First and foremost, it is essential to clarify that the correct name is Hon. Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (Polam), not “Polan,” as mentioned in the misleading information. We find it regrettable that Old Irepo Vanguard has chosen to make baseless allegations without conducting thorough research. A little investigation would have easily dispelled their inaccuracies. The claim that residents of Kishi, Igboho, and Igbeti who work in Sagamu are labeled as “thugs” is unfounded and divisive. It is irrational to condemn a town solely because it has challenges with cultism. Such generalizations are unjust and do not reflect the true character of the people in question. It is crucial to highlight the facts about Hon. Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed’s achievements during his short time in office. Within just 100 Days in office, he has fulfilled more than 15 campaign promises and counting, demonstrating his dedication to the constituency. These accomplishments include educational projects, agricultural empowerment, job opportunities, community donations, scholarships, healthcare support, and more. The decision on each of these achievements was made in collaboration with community leaders, party leaders, and various stakeholders, ensuring that the initiatives are in line with the needs and priorities of the constituents. We urge all concerned parties to disregard the baseless content produced by the leader of Old Irepo Vanguard and instead focus on the substantial progress being made within our federal constituency. It is unprecedented for a first-time member of the House of Representatives to achieve such significant milestones in just 100 Days. Together with Hon. Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed, we are committed to taking our constituency to even greater heights, addressing the needs ofold our people, and fostering development for all. Let’s work hand in hand to build a brighter future for our community. The achievements are listed below for future records: 1. Facilitated and Commissioned a Block of Classrooms at Oloye Grammar High School in Igbeti. 2. Facilitated and completed a block of classrooms at Ariwajoye Secondary School, Sooro, Kishi. 3. Facilitated and completed a block of classrooms at ADS Secondary School, Igboho. 4. Provided Cash grants to over 700 people in the Old Irepo constituency. 5. Empowered over 300 farmers in the Old Irepo Constituency with various agricultural items. 6. Facilitated not less than 8 Federal government jobs for constituents. 7. Sponsored a motion on an abandoned Kishi-Igboho road project, currently under consideration by the House Committee on Works. 8. Donated a Vehicle to United Workers in Igbeti, the hometown of the so-called Coordinator of Old Irepo Vanguard. 9. Donated land worth N750,000 to the Association of Muslim Students in Old Irepo. 10. Provided a Master’s Degree Scholarship to a First-class graduate worth half a million and pledged to continue this culture until the end of his tenure in office. 11. Donated N1.2 Million to the Muslim Community in Kishi. 12. Donated N1.5 million to Owode Central Mosque, Igboho for the Drilling & installation of the Borehole. 13. Assisted in footing the N600,000 medical bill of Ms. Ganiyat Gbadegesi. 14. Donated 20 motorcycles to the Association of Old Irepo Okada riders in Sagamu, under the program called “Ride To Own scheme,” in which the repayment goes back to Okada Riders Group to purchase more Bikes. 15.
