OFFICIAL: Hon. Polam Facilitates Skills Acquisition and Empowers 220 Youths and Women in Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency

In a strategic effort to drive economic empowerment, promote self-reliance, and alleviate the impact of the high cost of living in Nigeria, Hon. (Dr.) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM), the House of Representatives Member representing Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, has successfully facilitated two distinct Skills Acquisition and Empowerment programs for 220 constituents. The initiative, targeting youths and women across the three local government areas, is part of his ongoing commitment to enhancing human capital development and fostering sustainable livelihoods within the constituency. The program, implemented in two strategic phases, was designed to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial skills and financial support to build sustainable livelihoods. Phase Two, which commenced yesterday and concluded today, focused on Entrepreneurship Training and was anchored by the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM). It engaged 100 participants in activities aimed at cultivating a strong entrepreneurial mindset, offering practical skills in agricultural business management, and fostering long-term economic independence. The training was successfully concluded, with participants gaining hands-on experience and practical knowledge. Upon completion, each participant received a certificate and a ₦200,000 startup grant to launch their businesses, ensuring they have the financial backing needed for success.       Phase One of the Training and Empowerment program, which centered on Cassava-Garri Processing, took place earlier in September. The three-day training, anchored by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), provided over 120 women and youths with comprehensive knowledge on the complete cassava-to-garri production cycle, including packaging, branding, and marketing strategies to ensure profitability. To further support their ventures, Hon. Polam provided each trainee with a ₦200,000 startup grant and supplied a grinding machine to each of the three local governments to facilitate mass garri production in the constituency.           These training and empowerment initiatives clearly demonstrate Hon. Olaide Mohammed’s dedication and commitment to improving the lives of his constituents at the National Assembly. Through consistent efforts like these, he is fostering economic growth, creating jobs, and ensuring a brighter future for the people of Irepo, Orelope, and Olorunsogo. This investment in the youth and women of the constituency reflects his unwavering commitment to sustainable development, growth, and prosperity for all. Maulid Nabiyy: Hon. Polam Urges Prayers for Nigeria, Advocates Support for Community Amidst Economic Hardships

On this blessed occasion of Maulid Nabiyy, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), I extend my heartfelt greetings to all the Muslim faithful in Irepo, Orelope, and Olorunsogo Federal Constituency. This is a time of deep reflection, unity, and devotion to the values exemplified by our beloved Prophet—values of compassion, patience, and kindness toward one another. As we celebrate this noble occasion, I encourage you to seize the moment to pray fervently for our beloved Nigeria. We are all aware of the challenges the nation is facing, particularly the rising fuel prices, inflation, and the resulting hardship that many are experiencing. This is indeed a difficult period for our country. However, I urge you to remain hopeful, as efforts are being made to alleviate these burdens. With the operational start of the Dangote Refinery, we are hopeful that fuel prices will decrease, and with time, relief will come to the people. In the spirit of Maulid Nabiyy, let us show empathy and extend support to our fellow brothers and sisters who may be struggling. This is a time for us to come together and uplift one another, just as the Prophet taught us. No act of kindness is too small in these trying times. In my continued effort to bring relief to our constituency, I am pleased to inform you that I recently facilitated the training of women and youth on cassava processing. This initiative will allow us to turn cassava tubers into Garri—a staple food in our communities—at a more affordable rate, easing some of the economic pressure and providing a sustainable source of food within our constituency. As we commemorate this sacred day, let us also pray for peace, prosperity, and food security in Nigeria. May Allah (SWT) bless our leaders with the wisdom to steer the nation through these challenges and grant us all the strength to support one another in love and solidarity. May Allah grant our nation success, bless our efforts, and bring enduring peace and security to our land. Ma Salaam. Signed: Hon. (Dr.) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed, POLAM House of Representatives Member Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency

Stay Peaceful, Economic Prosperity is Coming: Hon. POLAM Urges Constituents to Shun Protest

Dear Constituents, As your representative in the National Assembly, I, Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM), write to offer reassurance and encouragement during these challenging times. I understand the current economic difficulties, with rising prices making it hard for many to provide for their families. Please know that your concerns are my top priority. I am working diligently with the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and other parliamentarians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in his efforts to bring relief and support to our community and Country. Recently, through the Federal Government, I facilitated the construction of Blocks of classrooms in each of our LGA and another one is ongoing in Igbeti. The construction of an examination hall in Kishi, and a court hall in Igboho are also ongoing. Additionally, the construction of a Road Safety Office is forthcoming in Igboho, along with the provision of educational materials for pupils and students in the constituency. Rest assured, Mr. President and the National Assembly are committed to alleviating our hardships through various interventions, projects, and palliative measures. Soon, we will begin the distribution of fertilizers to our farmers to boost agricultural productivity and ensure food security. Another round of food palliatives and many other intervention programs are also in the pipeline from the Federal Government. We have just passed the bill to increase the minimum wage, providing significant financial relief to our workers. This period marks a significant milestone for our federal constituency as we witness the benefits of federal government initiatives. Numerous projects have been successfully implemented, with several more in progress. Recently, we also launched the installation of streetlights across the three local governments, with ongoing infrastructure projects. We are expectant on the road rehabilitation in our constituency soon. I strongly encourage and pleading to our youths and all constituents to refrain from participating in the planned nationwide protest on the 1st of August, 2024. I assure you that President Tinubu is fully committed to revitalizing Nigeria’s economy, but this requires careful and strategic planning. As the Yoruba adage goes: “Adire nla aagun, irun re nii o je kama” (A big chicken is sweating, but its feathers cover it). May the Almighty bring us solace and economic prosperity. Let us remain united and patient as we look forward to better days ahead. Sincerely, Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM) Member, House of Representatives, National Assembly Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, Oyo State. 28th July, 2024
